What kind of school do you go to?

Phoebe: We are homeschooled.

Who is your teacher?

Emma: Our mom.

Baylee: And Ashley (a short term-missionary)

What is your favorite school subject?

Phoebe: Math

Emma: Science

Baylee: History

What sort of chores do you have at home?

Baylee: I put my toys and clothes away, and help with laundry, dishes and feeding the dog.

Phoebe: I do the dishes, help with laundry and feed the dog.

Emma: I help with the dishes and laundry, and feed the dog and our chickens.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you don’t have school and chores?

Emma: I like to read.

Baylee: I like board games and playing house. I also like to ride around the house on my scooter.

Phoebe: I like to play volleyball.

Where do you go to church?

Phoebe: In a brick building.

Can you describe your church?

Emma: It has fans on the ceiling, and two stories, but we only go into the first one.

Baylee: It has pretty pink walls.

Phoebe: It has hard wooden benches.

Is your church in another language?

Baylee: Yes, it’s in Malagasy.

What do you do at church?

Baylee: We praise God by singing, praying and preaching. I also like to color.

Emma: I try to figure out which Bible verses they are saying, and look them up in my Bible.

Phoebe: I sing and try to listen as best I can.

What is your favorite Bible story?

Emma: The story of Esther.

Phoebe: Jonah and the whale.

Baylee: The story of baby Jesus.

Do you speak another language?

Phoebe: Kind of—I’m still learning.

Baylee: So-so. I’m still learning too.

Emma: I know a few words in Malagasy, and I can say all the numbers.

 What do you miss about America?

Emma: My family, and Chick-Fil-A.

Phoebe: My family and friends, and being able to play competitive sports. And Mexican food!

Baylee: I miss the ice cream, Chick-Fil-A, Nerds candy and my family.

What is your favorite thing about living in Africa?

Baylee: Getting packages from America.

Emma: Getting to learn a new culture.

Phoebe: The people here are great.

What is your favorite thing to eat?

Emma: Potatoes.

Baylee: Chicken and Dr. Pepper.

Phoebe: Ice cream.

What’s weirdest thing you have eaten?

Emma: Half of a whole fish, with the bones and everything.

Phoebe: Goat tail and liver.
